When I was 17, in the Army, and coming home on leave, I spoke to my Dad on the phone and he said he had a new car already picked out for me. I was leary to say the least, but when he took me to the car lot and pointed this car I was shocked!!!! Good job Dad!!!!!

I own a 1969 Z/28 Camaro, that has been put back to original trim, including the 302 cu.in, with factory alum. intake and a GM 780 cfm holley. The Garnett red is really showing its 43 year age and was wondering if painting the car would decrease the value of the car. I have owned the car and garage kept it since 1974, so the extior paint, black vynyl top, and interior with exception to carpet and dash, is still original. The car has had the rt. door bondoed and painted and also the left front fender. Under hood is all stock, but no smog pump. An original GM Cowl Hood was added in 1975, and American racing nastolgic rims with goodyears are now on the car. It is a Rally Sport, garnet red with black stripes. What would the value of this car be worth? Thx, Mike

wow your car really brings back old memories. My dad owned Fancher Buick in Fredonia, N.Y. from 1953 up to the early 70,s. I was 16 years old in 1964 and was driving a 57' chevy 210 2dr. ht. when my dad said I could order a new 1965 Skysark. I sat in his office and ordered a red convt. white inside & top 4speed. Before the car came in my dad got a letter about the new G.S comming out mid year. Dad called the factory and changed my skylark order to a G.S. over the ph. I probley had one of the first gs built, who knows maybe the first. I waited about a month for the car to come in and only had it one day when the cops cought me going (what they said was 100miles an hr.) come on me. Well dad took the car and told me to walk. He put it out front and it sold the next day. About 2 weeks went by and dad started to feel bad about selling my car. He said ok you can drive the car the guy traded in on your gs. It was a 1963 split window coupe, red 4 speed. I had many more gs buicks after that. A 66',67', 68 convt. 70'.71' and now I have a 72' 455 car. I never had a 69' cause I got drafted and went in the Army. But that 67' with the new 400 was a car I will never forget. It was gold with black vynel top & 4speed. I won several trophys with the car at wattsburgh drags in Pa. and no one could touch that car. Hell I missed a second geer on the trophy run once against a cuda and still beat him by 3 car lengths. Hope you liked the story. I got a million of them. the cars we had and my older brother had a 67, 340 white with all those red stripes. We could not sell that car till we took all the stripes off. Have a good one, love your car.
